To strategically respond to the disruptions in the traditional learning modes, faculty members virtually meet their parents and students via Gsuite’s feature Google Meet- an online video conferencing feature of Google.
All teachers and administrators attended the virtual orientation last August 23, 2020. This serves as a pilot run of the online platform for instruction.
With varying strategies maximizing the features of the Gsuite, the faculty members synchronously met and greeted their students after the general orientation per year level, through a video conferencing using Gmeet (Google Meet)
The day was initially set to know the capacity of the system to accommodate all the faculty’s simultaneous holding of classes. Also, the pilot run aims to feed the continual development and adjustment of the system and to adequately prepare students and teachers in the new mode of learning.
Aside from the pilot testing of the platform, the teachers and its administrator also took the time to inform the parents and students about the new learning platforms that the school will use including regulations and protocols that they should respond to, to cope up with the ‘new normal’ brought by pandemic.
For the rest of the school year, the teachers will utilize the Gsuite’s Google Meet and Google Classroom. In this platform, students may access learning materials, take a quiz, participate in discussion boards, submit outputs, and exchange messages with their teachers through google emails and google hangouts.
The Administrators instructed the academic workforce to explore creative means to continue to teach their students via online or remote learning, as face-to-face classes are still restricted by national and provincial COVID-19 guidelines.
