F2F IS OUT, OL IS IN: QCAFI shifts to Online Distance Learning for School Year 2020

In accordance with the directive of the Office of the President that no face-to face- classes shall be held until the Covid-19 vaccine becomes available, Quezon City Academy delivered instruction through pure Online Distance Learning (ODL) to keep their students, faculty and staff safe from Corona Virus.

As explained by DepEd that distance learning may be implemented through various modalities including Modular Distance Learning (MDL) which can be either Digital Modular Distance Learning (DMDL) or Printed Modular Distance Learning (PMDL); Online Distance Learning (ODL), TV- Video/Radio -based Instruction (RBI), TV-Video (SLM- based and MELC Mapped, and Blended Distance Learning (BDL).

Before the opening of classes last September 14, 2020, teaching staff of the academy conducted a dry run to test students’ and teachers’ internet connection stability and also to introduce the new online learning platforms to students of the academy.

Quezon City Academy Foundation Incorporated (QCAFI) has proven that Covid-19 cannot impair its academic functions, but uses it to push further and explore its limitlessness. The school embraces Academic Year 2020-2021 under the New Normal context, its administration, faculty members and students altogether braced themselves to continually uplift QCAFI’s seal of academic excellence, despite the paralyzing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The visionary and unbending administrative officials, well-trained and skills-equipped faculty members, and highly improved school’s technological infrastructure, the whole QCAFI Community seriously attending to students’ needs for learning – breaking the limits posed by distance and traditional practices.

As everyone imbibed QCAFI spirit, the academy faced the ‘new normal’ of academic Year with high hopes, courage and vision to go over the pandemic – united and unwavering.
